Actuary

The Actuary will work closely with the Director, Plan Management and will conduct analysis, pricing, risk assessment, and modeling to estimate financial outcomes. The position will also support the process of predicting expected costs of providing care under the terms of an insurance contract.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with pricing and filing individual and group medical products
• Employ actuarial knowledge to develop claim costs and pricing models and to recommend premium rates
• Assist with creating policies and strategies
• Gather and analyze data, relying on judgment and experience to plan and accomplish goals
• Collaborate as needed with finance team members
• Perform a variety of additional tasks and works under minimal supervision

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field
• Minimum 3 years with a preference of 5 years of health actuarial experience, preferably in the Health Insurance sector
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices and procedures relevant to Qualified Health Plans (Exchange Plans).
• Individual (<65) pricing experience
• ASA and MAAA designations
• FSA designation
• Creativity and latitude is required.
