Health Plan Alliance member plans continue to deliver quality care and excellent customer service.  Their outstanding NCQA ratings demonstrate their continued commitment to quality affordable care for the communities they serve.

In the 2017-2018 National Committee for Quality Assurance’s (NCQA) Health Insurance Plan Ratings, Johns Hopkins US Family Health Plan was one of only five commercial plans to receive a score of 5.  Three Alliance commercial plans received a score of 4.5.  Two Alliance Medicare plans Gundersen and Medical Associates earned a rating of 5.  Four Medicare plans earned a rating of 4.5. Four Alliance Medicaid plans earned a rating of 4.0.

The NCQA ratings compare more than 1,000 health plans across the U.S. The ratings provide consumers with a practical and meaningful guide for understanding their health care options and choosing the best health plans for themselves and their families. This year, NCQA studied 1,429 health plans and rated 1,062: 498 private (commercial), 386 Medicare and 178 Medicaid. The ratings focus on how plans perform in the key quality areas of consumer satisfaction, prevention and treatment.  The 2017-2018 ratings are available on NCQA’s website
