The content provides the most current updates regarding ICD-10-CM Official Coding Guidelines for Coding and Reporting FY 2022. Updating codes is essential part of the health care industry not only for facilities and medical practices, but health plans as well.  ICD-10-CM diagnoses codes are revised and released on Oct. 1 each year. In this presentation, attendees will review ICD-10-CM updates from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) effective October 1, 2021. Attendees will be able to:

• Identify and apply the changes in the 2022 Updates: ICD-10-CM Coding Guidelines
• Examine ICD-10-CM coding updates for the new year
• Point out relevance and importance of updating codes for your organization

 

Audience

Certified coders and managers with responsibility for the oversight of coders, as well as plan staff with responsibility for physician training around accurate and specific documentation related to coding.
