Event Date: 11/8/2021 - 11/10/2021

Event Overview

Explore the changing face of Medicare Advantage and how to implement a food and produce supplemental benefit

Attendance to the Medicare Advantage Supplemental Benefits Consortium (MASBC) and MA Bid Masterclass is available to all Alliance member plans and to invited event sponsors.

This event will be hosted in-person in Dallas, TX.  In addition, we will accommodate attendees who are only able to join us virtually. Register now to join us in-person or via the virtual event broadcast and stay tuned for more updates about this event.

This workshop is designed to directly support MA leaders with responsibility for building an innovative and competitive bid for your Medicare Advantage product in PY2023.

For the first time we will be featuring BraindateTM You won't want to miss this exciting new opportunity to connect! For the first time, we're offering BraindatesTM to our sponsor/member organizations. Check out this video and be on the lookout for an email to start booking your BraindatesTM!

Together we'll dig into these topics over the 1 1/2 day workshop:

  • Dive into a supplemental benefit area included in the top 6 benefits of interest by Alliance member health plans: Food and Produce. We'll hear from vendors offering implementation support and walk through an actuarial case study featuring real health plan data.
  • SDOH, health equity and the changing face of Medicare Advantage beneficiaries: Evolving our non-clinical interventions and supporting framework to meet our members where they are.
  • How regional and provider sponsored health plans are bringing their MA Product to life with winning strategies to educate, activate and delight their MA members.
  • What experts expect for MA in three years... five years... and beyond.  And how you can position your plan for success.

Who should attend

The entire workshop, including our onsite networking opportunities, will be of most interest to those Medicare Advantage (MA) health plan leaders with responsibility for your MA product design strategy. In addition, those responsible for the following will find participation valuable:

  • Your MA product research and design
  • Submission of your MA bid
  • Care management and clinical integration
  • Incorporating your MA and Duals product offerings into your SDOH strategy
  • Administering your benefit
  • Selecting and managing your vendors

Included on the November 9th agenda is a deep dive actuarial case study. This session features a price simulation and financial modeling deep dive into Food and Produce as a supplemental benefit.

Content will be of most interest to plan actuaries, as well as health plan leaders with responsibility for:

  • Building bid pro forma financial projections
  • Steering internal and external actuaries in the finalization of plan-sourced assumptions
  • Engaging with your lead actuary around pricing assumptions and pricing iterations
We encourage actuaries with responsibility for modeling your MA plan's bid to join us for this session - either in person or virtually!

The Health Plan Alliance’s hallmark is the unique space we provide for our members and partners to come together and meaningfully connect around the challenges and opportunities your organizations navigate every day. The health and safety of every attendee is our top priority and we are implementing health and safety protocols for our in-person events aimed at protecting all participants.

These protocols will be updated in response to ongoing guidance from CDC and local health authorities. If you have attended Alliance in-person meetings before, know this experience will be different in many ways – but also rest assured that we remain dedicated to creating unique opportunities to connect, learn and share with your colleagues from across the country.
