During this session participants should become familiar with recently published consensus statement from the American Headache Society for the integration of patient use for central neuromodulation in the migraine clinical care pathway. Evidence suggests nearly 50% of patients report insufficient response or tolerability and safety concerns that may preclude use of current migraine medications. This can result in lower patient satisfaction and higher healthcare utilization and cost.

SAVI Dual Migraine Therapy is an FDA cleared central neuromodulation treatment. It is prescribed for both acute and preventive therapy in adults and adolescents. Designed for use under the pharmacy benefit, SAVI automatically records and reports treatment compliance and patient outcomes. Patients and healthcare providers have long recognized that including a non-drug treatment option is an important part of providing comprehensive migraine care. Clinical response with central neuromodulation is similar to branded migraine medications, but with substantially reduced acquisition cost and improved tolerability.
