The Alliance Coding Work Group brings together individuals within Alliance member health plans, health systems or provider groups who have responsibility for coding, documentation or other activities related to RADV audits for Medicare Advantage and Commercial/Exchange products.

This call will be a little different than our typical Coding Work Group Call. Providence Health Plan will present five to six coding guidelines that give coders trouble (like coding BMI/obesity as an example). The guidelines will be shared at least two weeks in advance of the group discussion. On the call, we'll dedicate about 15 mins to each guideline for you to ask your peers questions and share your best practices.

Remaining time will be used for open discussion.

Audience

Certified coders and managers with responsibility for the oversight of coders, as well as plan staff with responsibility for physician training around accurate and specific documentation related to coding.

AAPC and AHIMA CEUs

CEUs are currently pending approval from AAPC and AHIMA.

AAPC: This event has been approved by the AAPC for 1.5 CEUs.

AHIMA: The program has been approved for 1.5 continuing education unit(s) for use in fulfilling the continuing education requirements of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). When submitting a question, you can select which topics your question is related to, such as "risk adjustment" or "coding". Individuals who have indicated in their Alliance profile they are interested in those topics and are opted in to discussion forum emails will receive your question. Screening Questionnaire for Substance DSM-V Criteria
From CHRISTUS Health, the first page is an FYI for the physician and the second page is for the member to fill out (similar to the PHQ9 for MDD). All substance use disorder criteria is the same except for Caffeine and Opioids (as prescribed by a clinician).

Before each disorder name, ICD-9-CM codes are provided, followed by ICD-IO-CM codes in parentheses. Blank lines indicate that either the ICD-9-CM or the ICD-IO-CM code is not applicable. For some disorders, the code can be indicated only according to the subtype or specifier.
