Manager of Physicians Health Plan IT

The Manager, PHP IT is responsible for overseeing technology needs for Physicians Health Plan, a subsidiary of Sparrow Health System. This position manages and mentors analysts and/or support and technical staff and reports to Director of Applications and is part of Sparrow IT Division. The Manager oversees and manages the operations of existing PHP IT related operations and the design/development/implementation of IT solutions for business problems through new and existing applications. The manager also develops business cases, provides cost estimates for new implementations, communicates effectively with leadership and manages projects to the defined scope, schedule, and budget. The manager provides project communication and status reporting to all levels in the organization. In addition the manager also manages third-party consulting, technical and/or outsourcing relationships, multiple concurrent projects to support multiple customers and collaborates with customer on resource issues/priorities.

Essential Duties:

• Responsible for the day to day technology support. Serves as a technical resource for system selection, integration and installation.

• Maintains a strong customer focus and relationships across IT, business teams and key suppliers.

• Leads multiple project teams and/or multiple technical/functional and operational groups. Defines and negotiates delivery scope, schedule, budget and service levels with stakeholders

• Provides guidance related to the appropriate use of technology solutions to meet business needs. Finds ways to leverage existing technology effectively to meet requirements. Effectively translates business needs to technology solutions

• Manages cross business process dependencies and ensures accountability and leadership

• Builds and maintains a high performing team. Ability to motivate the team and peers to accomplish mission, team objectives and committed targets.

• Promotes and manages the confidentiality of data and helps to ensure maintaining high standards in defining and/or managing the segregation of duties, internal controls, and compliance.





Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required:


Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business or related Healthcare or Technical field.


Experience:


• Minimum of 3 years of team leadership and/or IT related management.

• Robust experience in a wide range of Customer Services process, application and technology roles (Analytical, Project / Applications Management)

• IT Service Management experience, with significant operational management capability

• Experience managing high-profile Customer Services business-critical applications in a multi-vendor environment

• Healthcare or Insurance Industry experience

• Healthcare IT Applications experience
