Quality Performance Specialist

As the entry-level of Quality Performance Specialist, the Quality Performance Specialist I conducts work under close supervision to implement the enterprise-wide accreditation plan, performance dashboard and quality improvement work plan. This includes achieving assigned projects for such activities, as well as partnering with internal business partners and engaging other stakeholders as directed, to ensure all accreditation standards and regulatory requirements are met, while ensuring CHPW improves on measures essential to the plan’s success.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Essential Functions:
• Accreditation and Regulatory Readiness: Ensures compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. This is primarily done by directly reviewing requirements (including revisions or updates) then incorporating changes into project plans or creating deliverables directed by supervisor.
• Project Planning: Creates and oversees small work plans for projects essential to health plan success, including, but not limited to: accreditation, improvement projects, STARS improvement, and trilogy documents implementation.
• Quality Program Documents: Authors, as assigned, the Quality Program trilogy documents (program description, program evaluation and work plan). This includes annual revisions, as well as preparing quarterly reports to supervisor for appropriate bodies.
• Quality and Performance Review: Prepares reports for Plan Quality Council on Quality Program status, including review of internal performance dashboard, so supervisor may present materials and seek guidance at appropriate decision points from Plan Quality Council. Prepares all materials for assigned sub-committees.
• May represent the Plan in Federal, Regional and State activities or visits for the purpose of regulatory audits or accreditation reviews.
Other Functions:
• Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
• Associate of Arts degree in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Bachelor of Arts degree preferred.

Prior Related Experience:
• Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a health or managed care setting preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years participating on teams to ensure compliance with accreditation or regulatory standards preferred.
• Minimum of two (2) years participating on teams and partnering with internal business partners to improve business processes preferred.

Employment Eligibility:
• Candidate has not been sanctioned or excluded from participation in federal or state healthcare programs by a federal or state law enforcement, regulatory, or licensing agency.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Basic knowledge of personal computers and related software, including Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of project management
• Knowledge of supporting effective working teams
• Knowledge of health plan accreditation and regulatory standards
