Sr. Project Management

To provide Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience and Stewardship by providing information services that consistently exceed our customers' expectations and support the corporate objectives of Health First, Inc. This position will be responsible for managing multiple enterprise projects within the constraints of scope, quality, time and cost, to deliver specified requirements and meet customer satisfaction through direct project management and/or oversight of projects within the enterprise portfolio. This position participates in prioritization, resource allocation and strategic alignment for strategic planning for the corporation and ensures that information technology plans are in alignment with Health First goals and objectives. This position will lead/participate in the RFI/RFP process, including pricing and contractual negotiations.

Primary Accountabilities
Maintains currency of hardware and/or software and vendor information utilizing the Health First Information Systems Standard Templates for areas of primary responsibility, thereby providing a valuable resource needed to support daily operations and the Health First emergency preparedness mission. Shall create, review and update documentation for responsible systems including, but not limited to FAQ's, configuration, procedures and workflow as appropriate in the standard format. Documentation shall support normal system operations, downtime operations, and disaster preparedness requirements.
Plan, develop, implement, and coordinate projects as assigned, following established project management best practices and principles for initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects with appropriate tools and techniques to include planning and organizing work activities for assigned project(s) team(s). Clearly prioritizes and plans work activities, use time and resources efficiently, designs, establishes, and maintains staffing and an organizational structure to effectively to accomplish the project goals; recruits, employs, trains, supervises, and evaluates project staff, integrate changes to the project teams smoothly and sets goals and objectives for the project teams.
Takes a leadership role in creating workflow and education processes that continually provides for improvement of the Project Management process.
Assists the Manager in maintaining senior leadership reporting.
Oversee the close out of projects, including transition to operations and support, ensure training and hand-off process is documented and complete.
Appropriately document user acceptance by completing project closure or acceptance documents, documenting lessons learned and final project reports as required.
Responsible for planning capital and operational budgets for assigned projects, monitor and track budgets throughout the project lifecycle, adjust expenditures as necessary, and work within approved budget. Keeps track of assigned capital budget codes (CIP codes) on a monthly basis.
Document, execute and actively monitor the project plan to reach desired goals and objectives on time and within budget. This includes management of team members, vendor management, management of approved budget, regular and regular assessment of quality and risk. Must be able to appropriately manage and escalate issues, including issues with team, vendors, contracts, scope change
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree or the equivalent in a computer-related or health care relevant field is required. Years of proven experience may be substituted for degree.
Five or more years project management experience working in a health care environment or for a health care systems vendor or consulting firm, or equivalent hours spent managing health information technology projects
Certified Project Manager (accredited institution, PMI, asapm, AMA or similar organization) preferred
Proven management skills through years in a management position or similar work experience
Proven leadership and management skills, including budgets and contract negotiations
Excellent organizational skills
Capable of pursuing multiple concurrent tasks in an autonomous work environment
Strong skills in documenting policy, procedures, needs assessment and similar documents
Strong verbal communications skills with the ability to clearly enunciate and convey information.
Proven mentoring skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse healthcare environment.
Must be able to work effectively in a team environment.
