Content Marketing Specialist

The Content Marketing Specialist develops and manages unique content marketing and multimedia initiatives for SelectHealth, as well as related initiatives with our clinical partners. The Content Marketing Specialist assists in determining daily digital trends, analyzing blog engagement, and creating new multimedia, such as video and whiteboards.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in creative writing, analytics, Search Engine Optimization (SEO), and multimedia development, including video. This roles requires a creative approach to help SelectHealth understand and appreciate the customer’s journey and content expectations and drive traffic to our social sites.

Essential Job Duties

1. Writes engaging material every day to contribute to the content funnel. Applies best practices to optimize the customer experience and engage them through effective headlines, breakouts, and teasers for all delivery modes, including desktop, mobile, and other channels

2. Creates effective multimedia through practical experience using both Apple and PC products, Adobe, Animoto, GoPro, and other tools

3. Makes informed content decisions based on analytics, editorial strategy, strong news judgment, and an understanding of the related SelectHealth content marketing and social media strategies.

4. Maintains an in-depth understanding and attentiveness to trends, industry news, and SelectHealth products and services in order to use content marketing and social media as a proactive method for Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C) outreach.

5. Facilitates content creation and consumption by developing story ideas and plans with evergreen attributes. Maintains and distributes an editorial calendar that includes a regular cadence and works parallel with social media staff to facilitate distribution.

6. Holds regular meetings with Marketing staff and collaborates with Intermountain Healthcare content developers to ensure weekly coverage in addition to regular long-term exposure and assists in the development of appropriate and current editorial platforms and tools.

7. Works with internal clients to ensure content is appropriate for their audiences and explores alternative mediums for communication.

8. Follows upcoming community events and is nimble in content creation while still following an approval workflow to ensure timely review and placement.

9. Responsible to help develop strategy and direction regarding content marketing and multimedia and develops and enforces related policies and procedures, including deadlines, play, placement, style, and tone.

10. Coordinates freelance and contract work and assignments, including writing, photography, and multimedia as needed.

11. Provides traditional media support and helps to research and craft media responses as needed.

•Shift Details: Full-time, 40 hours/week (general business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00 pm)

Minimum Requirements
•Bachelor's degree in communications, English, journalism, or marketing obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
•Five years of experience in creative writing, multimedia production and video editing, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in a marketing capacity.
•Five years of editorial or production management experience and experience making deadline decisions.
•Demonstrated experience in content marketing and strong news judgment.
•Demonstrated strong editorial skills with extensive knowledge of style guides.
•Demonstrated skills with Adobe Creative Suite, photography, and video editing.
•Demonstrated ability to work in cross functional teams and autonomously.

Physical Requirements
•Manual dexterity, hearing, seeing, speaking
