Tech Documentation Coord

Position Summary:
The Technical Documentation Coordinator is responsible for creating and/or overseeing the creation of program documentation, explaining complex information in a clear and concise manner, and working with development staff to ensure accuracy of program logic. The Technical Documentation Coordinator is also responsible for the creation and maintenance of the data file integration inventory and ensuring appropriate Business Associate Agreements are in place. This position is responsible to author and maintain a documentation repository in addition to department policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree OR Five (5) years' experience as a Technical Writer, Developer, or Similar Role

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Three (3) years of related experience

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Experience with programming languages including RPG a plus. Technical writing experience. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences. Skilled at prioritization and project management
Essential Functions:

Responsible for maintaining a master grid of all data integration files, both incoming and outgoing, including but not limited to description, data universe, sample reports, users involved, contacts at the third party vendors, frequencies, and escalation protocols.
Responsible to ensure current Business Agreements are on file for data exchanges with third party vendors. Conducts audits on an annual basis to confirm third party vendors are still in an active contractual relationship with Health Alliance.
Responsible for creating and/or maintaining department Policies & Procedures and ensuring they are reviewed/updated no less frequently than annually.
Work in collaboration with department team members in developing training materials, development standards, etc.
Serves as a central point of contact for all departments regarding program documentation and the documentation repository; educates IT and other staff as appropriate.
Responsible for creating and maintaining a document repository that is accessible, easy to navigate and follows standards with regard naming conventions, formatting, required components, and content detail.
Participates on Change Control Committee to ensure documentation requirements are met prior to new programs or revisions moving to production.
Assists in identifying documentation that will require revision due to a change in business practice, processes or other programs.
Develops and maintains other critical departmental documentation including but not limited to the Job Scheduler, Computer Operations Process Flows, and System to System Integration maps.
Adheres to and enforces Health Alliance Medical Plans and Carle Foundation Administrative and Departmental policies and procedures.
