Health Data Analyst

Job Summary:

The Analyst provides support for Executives and all departments including analysis, pricing, capitation, network and provider specific reporting. Analytical support includes, but is not limited to, executing routine reports and programs, programming modifications to previously written routine reports., programming reports and analyses based on customer-based specifications, producing appropriate statistics, reports and presentations, analyzing results and impacts, and generating written reports with findings. The Analyst’s other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, working with data in SAS and other relational databases, data cleaning, descriptive statistical analysis, data modeling, developing and maintaining data documentation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Executing routine reports and programs and performing limited programming modifications to previously written routine reports.
• Developing routine reports based on specifications outlined by the Department Director and Supervisors. Testing, validating, analyzing, and presenting results in the forms of reports and memorandums. Automating such reports and assuring that they are performed and delivered on schedule.
• Performing Ad-Hoc analyses and generating, testing, validating and analyzing corresponding reports based on customer specifications outlined by the Department Director and Supervisors and communicating analytical conclusions and recommendations.
• Performing routine tasks related to maintenance of Departmental Data Warehouse and its documentation.
• Contributing to Encounter Submissions and Regulatory reporting.

Required Qualifications:
• Ability to apply advanced mathematical and statiscal techniques and principles into the analysis of health related data.
• Skill and proficiency in the use of advanced spreadsheet, database and statistical software on personal computer.
• Successful completion of Health Care sanctions background check.
• Ability to communicate results and findings in a clear and concise manner.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Ability to converse and write fluently in English.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Actuarial Science or other quantitative discipline.
• One year Health Data Analyst or related data analysis experience.
• SPSS or SAS a plus.
