Senior Product Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for overall operation and success of products, services, and/or segments of HAP’s product portfolio. This position will direct, coordinate and manage all activities for the operations and sales of these products; leading and managing cross-functional operations, product, sales, underwriting, compliance, provider, member, IT and measurement team functions and process to achieve product goals.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work with stakeholders to develop and implement strategies for product membership growth and retention. Develop business strategies for products across all product lines. Recommend and implement process changes to increase performance. Track and report on product performance and progress against goals.
Identify and lead product-specific strategies and initiatives for the continuous product improvement efforts of HAP’s product portfolio. This includes coordination with stakeholders throughout the organization in the training and operations of these products.
Review system and manual tools to ensure quality and efficient implementation of product development and enhancement efforts.
Lead the formalized relationships with vendors, if necessary (including SLAs) to support product implementation and product development efforts including the contract review process. Ensures vendors are ready to support implementations.
Create business strategy documents that recommend product innovation; lead the follow-up activities to ensure smooth transition and launch.
Work to build both formal (e.g. SLAs) and informal relationships with leadership of operational areas, sales, underwriting, compliance, provider, customer service, member and IT. Works with areas to address bottlenecks, constraints, and gaps in processes as part of the product build out and in support of product implementations.
Responsible for ongoing knowledge of state and federal mandates affecting health care delivery benefits. Provide vehicle to ensure compliance as it relates to product management activities.
Supports sales efforts for new business and existing groups as needed.
Hire, train, develop and supervise performance of staff as applicable.
Perform other related duties as assigned.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEREQUIRED:

Bachelor’s Degree required in Business Administration, Project Management, Health Care, or related field.
Minimum of five (5) years’ product management, product development or project management experience in running large projects of a complex nature preferably in managed care or insurance with working knowledge of product and project management principles.
At least two (2) years’ in a supervisory or lead role.
Experience in a professional role directly involved with Product Management Product Development and/or Project Management.
Experience leading initiatives that require coordination and cooperation from multiple functional areas.
Medicare experience preferred.
**$75,753.60

*The rate is the minimum pay for the position. Actual compensation will be based on education, years of experience, and other factors at the time of offer.
