Human Resources and Education Consultant

The Consultant, provides direction and leadership in the areas of People and Leader Education and Development, Recruiting and People Relations. The HR Consultant develops and recommends Human Resources practices and procedures to support Community Health Options development and growth, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations and works with leaders at all levels to foster an exemplary organizational culture. Creates, further develops/refines and may administer onboarding, education and development, customized recognition and retention programs. All efforts and projects are closely linked to the strategic goals of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Manages education and development including policy development and interpretation, people relations, behavioral interviewing education, etc. May administer personality assessments to enhance and develop People and Leaders.
Successfully ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws
Creates a dynamic working relationship with all Community Health Options leaders and people
Positively interacts with department directors/managers
Oversees internal HR communications including regular updates on people initiatives and maintenance of the People Handbook
Oversees the new hire onboarding process
Designs and facilitates people and management development programs, ensuring alignment with organizational strategy
Designs customer service education to achieve exemplary results
Supports the development of competency-based curriculum and appropriate educational delivery methods to meet varying levels of learning needs and various learning styles
Ensures that all educational events are well planned, organized and of the highest quality
Ensures development programs integrate with operational milestones
Understands and supports HIPAA compliance standards
Other human resources, education and compliance duties as assigned

KEY COMPETENCIES:

They must be self-motivated, highly effective and compassionate communicators, effectively leading people, managing work processes, and actively engaging in continuous process improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in business or education required; Master’s degree preferred
Seven or more years of demonstrated success in the HR and Training fields
Excellent oral and written communicator
Expertise in the all areas of Microsoft suite including Visio
Knowledge of Paylocity a plus
SHRM-SCP Senior Certified Professional, CPTM -Certified Professional in Training Management, CPLP -Certified Professional in Learning and Performance all desirable
Myers-Briggs certification advantageous
Ten or more years of leadership in human resources, training, education and management development
Proven knowledge and expertise in competency-based curriculum development/design, adult learner education delivery techniques and assessment and evaluation of education offerings
Strong relationship-building skills
High integrity
Demonstrated excellence in group presentation and facilitation skills
Insurance industry experience and an understanding of insurance plans desirable
