STARs Impvement and Accreditation Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY:
To be fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Service and Stewardship by collaborating with subject matter experts to develop customer-facing communications and coordinating internal performance improvement efforts with the focus of improving STARS performance and achieving NCQA accreditation to support overall customer experience provided by Health First. The Coordinator will aid in maintaining an inventory of member communications, tracking iterations of each piece, and performing reviews and editing existing communications, revising and updating materials on at frequency appropriate for the purpose of the communication piece, in addition to collaborating with other teams to document, track, and implement performance improvement efforts.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Effectively manages key quality improvement initiatives (NCQA, HEDIS, STARS, and CAHPS) simultaneously
Coordinate new member materials (customer and provider) based on content provided by the operational subject matter expert
Ensure that each communication is reviewed by the appropriate subject matter expert and approved by the related leadership team, as well as a member of the Member Engagement Communications leadership team
Evaluates Quality project outcomes and suggests Quality improvement plans based on findings
Coordinates the annual HEDIS and STARS Work Plan
Coordinates completion of the HEDIS Roadmap for HEDIS/CAHPS submission to NCQA auditor as needed
Actively participates in priority quality projects with the department and system as needed
Assist in developing strategies, key messages, and vehicles for communication to support member wellness and experience initiatives
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
2 years of experience in quality management, technical writing, communications, or related field, preferably in the Health Care industry
Strong working knowledge of STARS and/or NCQA, required
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong motivation to achieve personal, departmental, and organizational goals
Aptitude for proofreading, editing, and project management
Experience using various platforms for creating, editing, and distributing communications, including extensive experience using Microsoft products
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to sit at a computer terminal for 8 hours or more per day
Ability to work flexible and/or long hours at a desk using computers, telephone and a variety of other automated office machines
Ability to work in various office environments
