Summary:

We are searching for an Assistant Director of Pharmacy -- someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you will work closely with the Director of Pharmacy and other key personnel to develop and implement pharmacy projects and interventions, identify opportunities for financial savings, drive quality improvement, enhanced clinical services, and ensure pharmacy compliance with regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities :

• With guidance from the Director, creates and manages a comprehensive disease management program for multiple disease states. Aligns disease management to broader population health strategy
• Develops new, and enhances existing, clinical programs to improve HEDIS metrics, clinical outcomes, patient and prescriber experience, and cost avoidance
• Reviews complex clinical pharmacy and medical data. Properly communicate progress, barriers, or opportunities to the Director and other senior leadership
• Assists with maintaining and enhancing operational processes and controls in compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements
• Makes recommendations as to how services, methods, and internal procedures can be improved. Establishes action plans to implement appropriate change and assists Director in implementing changes
• Identifies opportunities for cost savings or avoidance and provides guidance to clinical team to implement interventions. Tracks progress and reports to leadership
• Create and maintain tools to monitor employee productivity and progress
• Checks all available means of communication including e-mail, mailbox, and voice mail if applicable every day/shift



Qualifications:

• Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is required for all employees unless approved for a medical or religious exemption
• Bachelor’s degree or Doctorate in Pharmacy required
• Active pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Texas
• 5 years pharmacy work or pharmacy residency experience required
• 2 years supervisory experience required
• 2 years Health Plan or PBM experience required
• 1-year PGY1 Managed Care Pharmacy residency preferred
• 4 years managed care experience at a health plan or PBM working in utilization management, disease management, and/or analytics preferred
• 2 years direct reports and experience presenting to executives preferred
