The Commercial Products Assistant Vice President (AVP) - SelectHealth is responsible for advising, developing, and monitoring all commercial health plan offerings. This includes large group commercial, self-insured, FEHB, small employer, individual, and ancillary product lines, etc. The Commercial Products AVP - SelectHealth has responsibility for product strategy and development and works closely with all internal departments, delivery system partners, brokers and employers in the market to meet customer expectations for SelectHealth products and services. The AVP develops and manages a comprehensive product strategy for improving product performance and meeting product line margin targets in our commercial product line. A critical component of the role is working to innovate Value-Based Payment products and arrangements. They work closely with actuarial, underwriting, sales, finance, physician groups, aligned payer organizations, delivery system partners and Castell to ensure alignment where possible.
This role reports directly to the Vice President of Products and Strategic Development. This AVP develops and manages a comprehensive product strategy for improving product performance and meeting product line membership growth and financial targets.
Responsible for overall success of SelectHealth’s commercial products.
Lead analysis, delivers insights, provides actionable recommendations to improve commercial product performance.
Leads system-wide efforts to improve product performance in commercial products.
Acts as an advisor to leadership, including senior leadership, on the commercial market
Proactively identifies, evaluates, and works to implement projects and programs key to managing healthcare costs while improving outcomes.
Supports and manages development efforts related to the enhancement and maintenance of our current and new products and service offerings.
Oversees programs to ensure they are meeting established objectives in the commercial product space.
Develops measurements, and monitors and reports for all product performance metrics consistent with SelectHealth and Intermountain strategic goals and objectives.
Master's Degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
Ten years of healthcare experience, with five in management, with track record of success.

Strategic thinker with the ability to articulate a clear vision and develop strategies and implementation plans that include building support among a diverse set of constituents that may have competing objectives.

Demonstrated effectiveness in a matrix organization.

Experience managing product performance initiatives for commercial products.

Experience analyzing rates, working with employers, brokers, actuaries, contracting, performing complex financial analysis, and directing staff in direct or indirect reporting structures.

Able to interpret and analyze marketing statistical information in making sound recommendations, gather information from a variety of sources and present opportunities.
