The Accounting Director is responsible for leading the overall accounting processes for the company. This includes maintaining a system of internal controls to help ensure assets are adequately safeguarded; all financial reporting is prepared in compliance with regulatory requirements, and analyzing/interpreting key financial data for decision making. This position will oversee all budgeting, disbursements, receivables, and all Medicare payment accruals and reconciliations.
Major Work Activities
Directs, prepares, and oversees the general accounting function, including intercompany accounting, cash management/reconciliation, financial reporting, balance sheet management, monthly-close process, and risk-based capital management Directs, prepares, and oversees the disbursement and receivables; the budgeting process;value-based and risk-sharing agreement reporting; and variance analysis for the company Prepares and delivers reports and analyses to senior leadership, the Board of Directors, and employees on the financial health of the company Directs, prepares, and provides analysis and review of Medicare Advantage revenue accruals and reserves; Medical Loss Ratio calculations; Risk Adjustment calculations; and claims reserves Leads the Medicare payment and reconciliation processes Participates in the annual Medicare Bid Process providing accounting and financial support and analysis on products and benefits Accountable for establishing and maintaining all related policies and procedures for accounting and finance functions that help provide assurance that company assets are protected, including Model Audit Rule Responsible for ensuring all financial records are maintained in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures and Statutory Accounting Principles Responsible for coordinating all internal and external financial and accounting related audits (e.g. year-end and regulatory audits) Leads a staff assigned to finance and accounting; provides guidance and mentoring of staff; and builds effective teams (both internally and with vendors) to achieve established goals and within established budgets Demonstrates the ability to lead and influence others positively to achieve desired goals of HTA Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with shareholders, regulatory agencies, and vendors Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
Required Education
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or related field; or 7+ years of equivalent experience
Required Licensure/Certification

7+ years of related experience 5+ years of leadership experience Strong in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Demonstrated knowledge of Statutory Accounting Principles Strong in the following competencies: Decision Making/Judgment Problem Solving/Analysis Communication Creativity/Innovation Self-motivated with excellent follow-through Ability to work independently and with a team Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Education
Master’s degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field
Preferred Licensure/Certification Regulatory
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) Preferred Experience
Experience working with reserving models Experience working with regulatory agencies Health plan experience Experience leading/ coordinating projects Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiarity with Model Audit Rule (MAR) requirements Knowledge of the healthcare environment Understanding of Medicare Advantage and Part D Programs
