Director of Human Resources

Network Health is seeking a Director of Human Resources to join our team. This individual is accountable for the facilitation, development and management of Network Health’s human resources strategy including technical execution, via oversight the HRIS, as well the cultural and employee relations components. The incumbent will work closely with the senior leadership team to define the HR philosophy and work across the organization to ensure practices and tactics are compliant with laws and regulations, align with business objectives and are in support of the organization’s mission, vision and values. 

Specific areas of strategic accountability include recruiting and staffing; organizational planning; performance management and improvement systems; organization development; employment and compliance to regulatory concerns; employee orientation, development, and training; policy development and documentation; employee relations; compensation and benefits administration; payroll administration; human resources information system management; succession planning; temporary staffing; and employee safety, welfare, wellness and health.

This individual also oversees the learning and development team and facilities functions of the organization as well as the HR team.

Job Responsibilities:

Annually reviews and makes recommendations to executive management for improvement of the organization’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures compliance.
Maintains responsibility for compliance with federal and state legislation pertaining to all personnel matters and ensures proper communication regarding any changes.
Assists executive management in the annual review, preparation and administration of benefits, wage and salary program.
Consults with legal counsel, and department manager as appropriate on personnel matters to assist in carrying out responsibilities.
Develops orientation, mentoring and leadership and staff development programs.
Ensures virtual workforce program is compliant with regulations and is operated in a manner consistent with the values of the organization.
Serves as business owner of the human resources information system encompassing recruiting, performance management, benefits, payroll and succession planning.
Supervises the staff of the human resource department, as well as the Manager of Learning and Development (who oversees the facilities and learning and development staff).
Must be able to assist the VP of Operations in preparing all human resources strategies and communicating them to executive management and all levels of the organization.
Excellent oral and written communications skills with strong influencing skills and the ability to adapt style based on circumstances.
Ability to effectively present and represent NHP/NHIC/NHAS’s interests externally with government agencies and the board of directors.
Strong influencing skills and perseverance in investigating.
Ability to work through and develop workflows, decision making guides and training.
Ability to assist and work through legal contracts to reduce risk and ensure compliance with applicable State and Federal employment regulations.
Demonstrated experience or education working through change management principles and tools.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in a fast changing and growing organization.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in business, human resources organizational development or a related field is required.
Five to seven years’ experience in human resources is required.
Five to seven years’ leadership experience is required.
SHRM Certified Professional or PHR-Professional in Human Resources are strongly preferred.
Current and valid Driver’s license.
