Preferred location for this position is Utah or Colorado, but we may also consider other states where Intermountain does business - Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming, and Kansas. Travel will be required to meet the needs of the position.
Job Description:
The Medicare AVP leads the development, implementation, and ongoing operation of Medicare products and services, with full responsibility for profit and loss for the Medicare product line. Directs and coordinates all activities associated with the Medicare program to assure that corporate performance objectives are met in a timely, effective, and efficient manner.
This position coordinates, directs, and monitors activities across multiple departments to assure that Medicare performance goals, including but not limited to, membership and growth goals, financial goals, medical management goals, customer service goals, regulatory and compliance requirements, etc. are achieved. This position serves as the primary interface with CMS and is responsible for continued development and implementation of Medicare program strategies and a work plan, as approved by senior leadership.
The position is also the primary liaison to Intermountain on critical issues for the Medicare product.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business or a related field obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified. Demonstrated experience in a leadership role within a Medicare managed care plan Demonstrated effectiveness working with the State and Medicare Compliance Programs Demonstrated effectiveness in new product development and implementation Demonstrated effectiveness in building collaborative relationships with physicians/providers Demonstrated effectiveness in managing large and complex projects Demonstrated leadership abilities to interact effectively with people across organizational boundaries Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, direct and assure completion of complex work on time and within budget
Preferred Qualifications
Masters Degree in Health Care Administration, Business or related area obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified Responsibility and demonstrated success in Medicare 'start up', program development and implementation Strong understanding of the integrated delivery system model, with demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships with all a wide range of stakeholders
