Health Plan Alliance Medicaid plans will meet in Kentucky, Oct. 23-24 to discuss Value Based Purchasing strategies

Health Plan Alliance

The Health Plan Alliance is hosting its second 2017 fly-in designed with Medicaid health plans in mind; the event is October 23-24 in Louisville, KY and is hosted by Health Plan Alliance member health plan Passport Health Plan.  Like all Alliance events, there are no event registration fees for Alliance member health plans or their provider affiliates. The preferred hotel room rate expires October 2nd and registration for the event is now open.

Medicaid health plans across the country are riding out a sea change.  Each state has been putting its own unique stamp on the shift to value, and policy at a federal level continues to push health plans to drive more dollars out of their spend as rate pressures continue to increase.  This event provides a deep dive into Value Based Purchasing, “Medicaid-ized.”  With multiple perspectives on the agenda, including policy makers, provider partners, health plans and their key strategic partners; the event is designed to support Medicaid health plans as they continue in developing, refining, and executing their VBP strategy in 2017 and beyond.

The agenda includes a presentation from Adam Meier, the deputy chief of staff on policy with the Kentucky governor’s office, who will discuss the challenges facing the state of Kentucky when it comes to managing the needs of their Medicaid population.  In addition, Passport Health Plan CEO Mark Carter provides a deep dive into the wellness campus breaking ground in the Fall of 2017.  “Passport has over 30K members in West Louisville and 75K within a 10-mile radius of the site,” said Jill Bell, VP and chief communications officer at our recent fly-in on social determinants of health.  “Passport has a great opportunity to impact the health and well-being of West Louisville.”  This huge undertaking by Passport is not only a prime example of one Alliance member health plan tackling social determinants head-on with out-of-the-box thinking, but is also an example of how these projects can be financed and sustained in new ways.  Mark Carter will share the latest developments during the October fly-in.  View the complete agenda.

Who should attend?  The event is designed for Medicaid health plan strategic, clinical, and operational leadership, as well as individuals with responsibility for your Medicaid health plan's provider contracting and partnership strategy.  Stakeholders in developing and executing your Medicaid plan's value based care strategy will also find the event’s content timely.
