Fall Leadership Forum 2022

Event Date: 11/1/2022 - 11/4/2022

Event Overview

Building trust—with your employees, members, partners, communities, regulators, and policy makers

At the 2022 Spring Leadership Forum we touched on the issue of Trust. It plays a part in developing and protecting your organization’s culture and is also foundational to your relationships with your provider partners. It’s invaluable to your brand and indeed is a key differentiator in your positioning as a local, community-based health plan.  You build trust with policy makers and regulators at every level as you seek to serve members across multiple product lines.

The 2022 Fall Forum builds on our exploration of Trust and how Health Plan Alliance member organizations are building it with their employees, members, partners, communities, regulators, and policy makers.  Our timely, health plan-led case studies are complemented by thought-provoking discussions with industry experts and surprising insights from unexpected sources.

Join us this November at the beautiful Bishop’s Lodge to engage with your executive peers in the unique collaboration space for which the Alliance is known.

CEO Panel: Transformational shifts regional plans are making to stay close to their organizations’ missions

Lean into a candid discussion with CEOs from Alliance member health plans across the country: How are we continuing to transform to serve our members, maintain strong partnerships, and deliver strong outcomes for all stakeholders? Every organization uniquely approaches these mandates, and our panel of CEOs shares their philosophy and priorities regarding these challenges. Together, we dig into the transformational shifts we’ve made in response to external pressures – from the global pandemic to market activity, member expectations and industry shifts.

Lightbulb moments: HPA execs share their best ideas

In this fast-paced, facilitated group ideation session, Alliance member health plan leaders share a “lightbulb moment” – a quick overview of their best tactics that have moved the needle on key initiatives. Examples may include effective provider partnership strategies; impactful outreach efforts that have engendered engagement among your member population; workforce management strategies that, once implemented, have improved satisfaction or retention; tactics that have radically reduced costs or managed risk, and more. Walk away with a collection of new ideas to take back to your teams.

From Network Health Plan:

Learn how a health reimbursement arrangement can be a recruitment and retention tool for employees, lower health plan costs and be a new source of income for health systems. Network Health shares its four-year story and Catilize Health joins the discussion, sharing examples of over a decade of savings.

From Geisinger Health Plan:

Geisinger has jointly developed a program with Geisinger Clinic (Geisinger’s multi-specialty physician group practice) regarding Medicare Advantage for the Clinic’s Medicare patients. The program is intended to educate the Clinic’s Medicare patients about Medicare Advantage in general and provide them with an opportunity to connect with GHP to learn more about GHP’s Medicare Advantage products.  The program has been embedded into the workflows at Clinic practice sites and has been well received by patients. Collaboration with affiliated provider clinics regarding Medicare Advantage can be very positive but must take into account compliance requirements and substantial work with and buy-in from physicians, nurses and clinic staff.

About the Health Plan Board Structure and Compensation Survey: The survey, conducted mid-year 2022, captures current health plan board size, configuration, member sourcing, standing committees, term limits, and compensation structure. In addition, the survey explores how plan boards integrate with their system board, priority areas of focus, and training, resources, and support.

The Innovation Adoption Equation: Removing the guesswork

Our members are at the center of all we do but making that manifest in our innovation framework is easier said than done. “Innovation” as a function can quickly get stalled by other mission-critical needs (NSA and price transparency, anyone?). In this session, product innovation consultant Frances Cairns takes the audience on an exploration of an Aligned Innovation Framework that defines and productizes unmet customer needs, leading to greater engagement, satisfaction and outcomes. We’ll move through the four gates of this framework, from a readiness inventory and unmet need research through design and validation, and into the engineering and mapping that ultimately lead to a MVP, pilot testing, and eventually scale. Attendees will walk away with a fresh perspective on what it takes to truly embed innovation so that it delivers results as consistently as every other mission-critical element you need to leapfrog the competition and stay relevant to your stakeholders.
