How HPA Medicaid plans are preparing for the end of the Public Health Emergency (Part 2)

Event Date: 6/28/2022

Event Overview

Wednesday, 6/28/2022
1:00 PM CT – 2:00 PM CT (60 minutes)

The winding down of the Public Health Emergency has big implications for Medicaid health plans. How is your state approaching recertification of Medicaid beneficiaries? In what ways can you support your Medicaid members as they navigate the always-challenging paperwork and processes required for eligibility determination? Do you have opportunities to manage member churn by enrolling them seamlessly into your ACA plan? What are other financial and operational implications for your Medicaid LOB in the 2nd half of 2022 and into 2023?

These are precisely the issues we are tackling in this roundtable discussion series. Hosted by the Health Plan Alliance leadership and centering HPA member health plans, these roundtables provide a safe space where top Medicaid leaders can come together to share what their plan is doing, ask questions about the approaches others are taking, problem solve, and stress-test ideas together. The discussion is designed for executive leaders in mind and the call is open to anyone from your teams to join. (Please note, though – this is a highly participatory call and every attendee is encouraged to join us on-camera and actively engage in the discussion.)

Do you have specific discussion topics you’d like the group to tackle on the call? Feel free to send them in advance to Kristin.Rodriguez@healthplanalliance.org.

PLATFORM NOTES: The roundtable discussion will be hosted on Zoom.  Please test your computer in advance to ensure the best experience:

Audience

Medicaid Health Plan CEOs and Executive Leaders with responsibility for your Medicaid LOB’s P&L, as well as leaders responsible for your Medicaid member enrollment and recertification experience, will find the discussion timely and supportive to your own team’s problem solving in the face of the end of the Public Health Emergency. In addition, the content will be of interest to top leaders with responsibility for:

  • Developing a plan for supporting your Medicaid members recertifying Medicaid eligibility as the PHE ends
  • Building a strategy for managing member churn and helping members transition to your public option plan
  • Modeling financial implications of member recertification
  • Partnering with your state on developing a roadmap post PHE
