Successfully passing a CMS Program Audit starts with submitting accurate and timely universes, which are due within 15 business days of the date of the audit engagement letter. Health plans only have three attempts to provide complete and accurate universes during an audit. Therefore, it is imperative universes are thoroughly quality checked before submission to CMS.
