Turbocharging your Stars mandates in 2024 and beyond
The first in-person workshop for MA Stars Accelerator participants is an important milestone that sets the stage for your Stars work success in 2024 and beyond. There will be two groups for this workshop. Join us for one powerful day with your Stars peers from other health plans, plus the Stars experts from Healthmine. The objective? To move beyond "admiring the problem" and make actionable plans that you and your team will tackle back at home before the next workshop in March 2024.

Pre-work: Identifying the work
*Please check the Stars Accelerator Project Portal early and often for pre-work your team will need to complete prior to the Feb 1-2 Fly-In.*
Here's what to expect:
- Identify your most urgent needs and priorities
- Select the top 2-4 priorities you want to solve through the Accelerator
- Confirm your top priorities with your executive sponsor(s) and Stars team
- Validate who from your team should join the Accelerator to a turbocharge its impact (RA, Network, COO, CTO)
In-Session: Planning the work
The Feb 1-2 Fly-in will focus on Collaboration and Activation. Through large group lecture and small groupwork, augmented with working sessions beside your cohort peers, we'll help you walk away with the following accomplishments:
- Establish your plan's goal
- Identify the root cause of noncompliance a/or challenges related to your chosen topic
- Articulate complications and other factors impacting action and success
- Identify stakeholders whose help you need for success
Homework: Work the plan
The real work begins when you return home from the Feb 1-2 Fly-in. We encourage you to have a debrief meeting already scheduled on your Stars team members' calendars so you can dive right into the action items you've framed. Look forward to a follow-up meeting with your Accelerator cohort in about 2 weeks, when you can share your progress and get help with any barriers.
- Decide what your next steps need: A strategic JumpStart, QuickStart or KickStart
- Launch project team
- Validate root causes and magnitude of impact on your contracts
- "Work the plan"
Who should attend
This meeting is limited to Health Plan Alliance members participating in the 2024 MA Stars Accelerator and invited guests. Each health plan Accelerator champion should ensure their organization sends at least one individual. You may send up to two delegates, if you wish.
