MASBC PY 2023: Jam Session 4 – Social needs and in-home support

Event Date: 9/28/2021

Event Overview

Tuesday, 9/28/2021
10:30 AM CT – 12:30 PM CT (2 Hours)

Attendance to the Medicare Advantage Supplemental Benefits Consortium (MASBC) for Plan Year 2023  is by invitation only. The September 28 call is available to both Alliance member plans participating in the project and MASBC supporters and 2021 Preferred Business Sponsors.

WHAT WILL WE COVER DURING THIS SESSION?

Our project faculty provides a strategic overview and "state of play" for two key MA supplemental benefits member plans are exploring now: Social needs and In-home support.

We have learned a great deal about these supplemental benefits since the PY2022 bids were submitted. Our expert faculty will walk Alliance members through how these benefits' broad introduction has impacted the MA market nationwide.

In addition, a panel of Alliance member plans will kick off the health plan discussion by sharing their experience with these benefits. There is high interest in addressing social needs for many, but the barriers are hard to overcome.

We'll dig into those and refine what we want to learn from our upcoming faculty of vendor experts.  When it comes to In-home support, experience among the Alliance health plans is much broader, and we'll learn from one another about real-world learnings related to this benefit.

THE CALL'S AGENDA:

10:30 AM CENTRAL: Welcome! Kick off with Kristin Rodriguez

10:35 AM CENTRAL: SECTION ONE: Social Needs

  • The state of the benefit: Social Needs
  • Health plan discussion panel with full attendee participation: Social Needs

Intended Audience for this particular session:

In this session, we will be digging deep into the social needs and in-home support benefits. Each session has learning priorities identified that are of interest to specific stakeholders within your plan.

The state of the benefit will be of most interest to those Medicare Advantage (MA) health plan leaders with responsibility for your MA product design strategy. In addition, those responsible for the following will find participation valuable:

  • Your MA product research and design
  • Submission of your MA bid
