MENASHA, WI (April 7, 2016) – Network Health, the Wisconsin-based health insurance company, confirmed today that Sheila Jenkins, President and CEO, will transition into a senior advisor to the president role until her previously announced retirement on January 27, 2017. On April 6, Michael Muchnicki was appointed interim CEO and president of Network Health.


“Sheila Jenkins has guided the strategic initiatives and performance of Network Health for the last 14 years, placing the health insurance company in the top 20 percent of the nation’s health plans,” Ministry Health Care President and CEO Dan Neufelder said. “Under her leadership, the company has grown to over 950 employer groups with over 107,000 members and 170,000 wellness participants nationwide. The Medicare Advantage line of business, launched 11 years ago under her leadership, has grown to a 4.5 Star plan with over 63,000 members. Sheila’s legacy of providing affordable, quality health care coverage will continue well into the future of Network Health,” Neufelder said. 

Michael Muchnicki is an accomplished health plan executive with over 30 years of managed care and insurance experience with a strong record of growing successful teams including leading multiple health plans. 

“Michael Muchnicki will use his broad network of contacts, depth of experience and proven track record of delivering result to propel Network Health to success in Wisconsin’s ever-changing market,” Froedtert Health President and CEO Cathy Jacobson said.

Muchnicki is a graduate of The University of Kentucky and the Senior Executive Education Program at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. For more than three decades, Muchnicki led a number of public and private organizations and has served as the chief executive of major national health plans and insurance organizations operating in all 50 states holding senior management positions with United Health Group, CIGNA Healthcare and Blue Cross and Blue Shield with key roles in Ohio, Chicago, New Orleans, Miami and New York City.
