Chief Medical Officer

Position: Chief Medical Officer San Francisco

Reporting to the President & CEO, the Chief Medical Officer has responsibility for providing leadership and guidance for inpatient and outpatient clinical operations and outcomes the implementation of clinical excellence initiatives in partnership with administrative clinical staff and the affiliated health plan; provide medical management and clinical documentation improvement, guidance and oversight, coordination, and improvement in clinical care and patient safety. The position requires strong interface with administration, medical staff the affiliated health plan, UM/ case management staff, provide oversight of clinical informatics as well as the ability to analyze, prioritize, implement, collaborate, and communicate with stakeholders.
Qualifications

• MD/DO degree required plus five-ten years of progressive management experience
• Graduate of an accredited medical school, certified in an approved ABMS or AOA clinical specialty and currently licensed to practice in the state of California
• Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of local state and national federal state and regulations standards for quality outcomes and compliance
• Understanding of inpatient and hospital operations and
• Demonstrated decisiveness in his/her ability to gain consensus where appropriate
• Ability to drive results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated business acumen
• Ability to lead change initiatives
• Ability to promote and maintain solid interpersonal relationships
• An effective visionary who can lead and incent diverse constituencies
• Ability to make decisions based on fact and sound judgment
• The ability to maintain clinical skills and respect of the medical staff
