Overview
The first in a three-part series by Change Healthcare on the Transformational Elements of Value-based Healthcare:
- Part 2: Care Management in the Payer World
- Part 3: Optimizing Business Processes with Analytics
Alternative payment models to shift financial risk to providers and achieve quality benchmarks are rapidly being deployed. The ability to share information across the care continuum is critical to succeeding in these new models. The implementation of IT interoperability functionality will be essential. Several health IT systems currently exchange data successfully. However, the current ability to successfully share information to support care collaboration and patient-center care seems to be limited to large Integrated Delivery Systems, large provider groups, and ACOs.
During this presentation, Change Healthcare executives Norberto Correa and Andrei Gonzalez, MD discuss the current state of industry transformation and IT interoperability and the correlation between the two.
