National Network and Provider Benchmarking 2.0

Round Two of the Alliance's Reciprocity Benchmarking project is kicking off in February.  Eighteen plans participated in 2018 and it anticipated that those plans plus new participants will join together in 2019.  Participants focus on managing claims that fall outside their proprietary networks.  More than $93 million dollars of opportunity were uncovered in the 2018 study.

The focus this year will be on:

• Individual plans identifying specific providers that they can directly negotiate with
• Collectively members will identify national providers that we can leverage our collective bargaining with using the Alliance's GPO structure
• Pairs of individual plans will identify opportunities to develop reciprocal relationships with
